To end a perfect summer-winter day, Serendipity Creamery was at the top of our eatery list!
Scrolling through their Instagram account, I was convinced that eye candy existed. From the influencers, I follow to those appearing on my Explore page! Instant love story.
The salmon lox and cream cheese bagel stole my heart! Mind you, it is mixed with red onion and cream cheese to form a well-combined paste topped on the bagel of your choice. Their bagels are definitely something to indulge in if you're looking for something light yet filling, however, the hot chocolate was quite average but still delicious. The Lotus Biscoff cheesecake was an absolute delight! The best part was that it was not too sweet. The balance of the whipped cream brought all the flavors together perfectly!
Upon arrival, I received the wrong order which I merely thought was an unconscious mistake because we're all human. I did, however, notice that the place was not packed as it was a weekday implying people are at work so mistakes as such were not an excuse. Prior to my order, my beverage included a hot chocolate. At this point, the waiter had faulted my order yet again. I came to the harsh conclusion that despite being a paying customer, the service was quite disappointing. I was given a chicken and mayo bagel, which I realized a bit too late, but the waiter was quite aware because when payments were exchanged, it was mentioned that the wrong order was given. "Sorry" most certainly didn't cut it. No, I did not expect an entirely new menu beside me, but if I were an influencer, would the option be on the table? The least that could have been done was to refund me to return and build a positive "first impression" about the place.
My point is that customer service should remain consistent with every single individual that visits the store for a product or service.
Over the past long weekend, we've decided to indulge in a foodie experience, and believe me, we're still recovering from a food coma!
Situated on Roodebloem Road, Woodstock, Cafe51 was an experience like no other.
We had the pleasure of reserving our table with the assistance of Naseefa. The professional and rapid response was an absolute delight! We were welcomed by the eccentric Shaun who ensured our stay was one to remember.
I lost a bit of confidence when what I was looking forward to order was no longer available. To our surprise, we were recommended the UK schnitzel, lamb chops, salmon and avo wholewheat toast, legend chicken burger, and the sauciest chicken wrap I've ever tasted as well as the refreshing frio beverages. The schnitzel marinated with a cheese sauce was a bit too overpowering, but the chops were succulent. All meals were served along with deliciously spiced fries and the perfect amount of salads with dressing. The salmon and avo sandwich has my heart! As a sushi lover, there was a taste difference. It was not as sweet and that's what made it mouthwatering. The burger was a whopping 10/10. And no, I did not have all these meals by myself. It was ordered and shared among 4 people.
For dessert, we tried the milk tart and chocolate brownie with ice cream. Soft, creamy, and a chocolate explosion in your mouth!
From their exceptional service to even better hosting; make Cafe51 your next foodie adventure. Mother's Day to be exact. We will definitely be returning to indulge in more food, company, and loads of laughter!
Let's face it, Cape Town is the epitome of hidden gems and we found the perfect staycation spot.
Situated in Rawsonville just after the Huguenot Tunnel (the heart of the Boland) lies the most tranquil guesthouse. If you live in the City and in need of some peace and quiet without feeling guilty, then you need to visit Monte Rosa Guesthouse. The scenery will make you want to start writing a book.
Riana Roodt, the host and owner of this beautiful establishment is such a delight. She is amazing and makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk through the door. The rooms are super cozy and clean (a home away from home), and if I am not mistaken, has heated floors! No need for extra blankets or towels.
We did not opt for breakfast as we needed to leave early, but I do believe that it's delicious and prepared with love. This is charged extra if you book a room.
This Guesthouse is the perfect spot if you are just passing through, have writers-block or are in need of some inspiration and tranquility.
If you love head scarfs and hijab accessories then Unique Hijabs is just for you. We ordered via WhatsApp and the experience was top-notch. Super friendly services and fast delivery if you are in the Cape Town area. If you don't like shopping online, you can pop in at The Deen Store, Lansdowne to see what is in stock. The quality of the scarfs is amazing and the colors are just to die for. Different styles and materials are available at affordable prices.
Ps. We are totally obsessed with their silk scarfs and instant hijabs. Ooh and don't forget the magnetic pins!
